On Tuesday, 14 December class 2K went to Aachen. It was very nice in the coach. We laughed a lot. It was very funny. We arrived on time. We had to work together. I was in a group with three girls.

We walked a lot. I thought the questions about Aachen were very nice. We sent a postcard to the Netherlands. I loved the Chrismas market. The old part of Aachen was not ugly. It was very interesting to see.

Aachen is a big and beautiful city. The streets in Aachen have little stones. It’s not made of smooth asphalt. There is also a big church in Aachen. We have seen it. It is called the Dom. I would go there again.

The trip back home took a lot longer. There was a traffic jam. It was a very nice day. I would like to thank Mrs. Simons for this fun day.

On Tuesday, December 14, 2010 we went to Germany. We left very early. When we started driving, it was still dark. It was very nice in the coach. When we arrived and got out, there was a lot of snow! We started walking to the place where we had to assembly.

We started with a quest. We got a sheet with questions which you had to answer. You had to find pictures and if you didn’t know where to go you had to ask someone.

We gathered at one o’clock to go to McDonald’s.

When everyone had finished we started the next exercises. You had to do one interview with a local. You also needed to buy a pen and trade it for something bigger.

We met each other again at half past two. We left Aachen at three o’clock. We got stuck in traffic because there had been an accident.

It was super fun!

The bus left at five past seven. We drove for about three hours and a half. In the bus we received a sheet with 32 questions about the city of Aachen. It was a tour throughout the city which showed you around. I was in a group with Rachid and Alper. We were a good team. The tasks were fun but I missed walking around more freely.

For lunch we went to McDonald’s. I also bought a cooked fish from a market stall. In the afternoon we had to buy something for one euro to try and trade it for something bigger. We bought a candle. We traded it for an umbrella and finally we got a flower. We also had to do an interview but we didn’t get to that.

Aachen is a beautiful city. Especially the old part, which is not completely paved with stones, where there are narrow streets and ancient buildings with water.

On our way home we got stuck in a traffic jam but it was great fun.
